Bishop O'Dowd hasn't had much luck against Alameda recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Dragons will head out to challenge the Hornets at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Bishop O'Dowd 4.1, Alameda 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Alameda will be up against a hot Bishop O'Dowd squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Dragons blew past Berkeley 7-1 on Wednesday. Considering the Dragons have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Emma Brown looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jaella Mercado was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Morgan Jackson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Alameda, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on San Leandro with a sharp 14-1 victory on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Desiree Shoblo was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Wong, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
Alameda always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Alameda is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop O'Dowd, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Both Bishop O'Dowd and Alameda just can't seem to miss. The Dragons have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Alameda struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
