2A District 3 recap November 5, 2013
Tularosa took down Mesilla Valley Christian 52-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Nick Sheppard ran for 205 yards in the win.
Chase Carson was a passing and rushing force as Hatch Valley beat Lordsburg. He completed 4 passes for 116 yards and also ran for 104 yards.
Adrian Grajeda made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Bears defeated the Mavericks. The 5-foot-10 sophomore grabbed 1 interception.
Brett Saenz was the best receiver in 2A District 3 this week as the Wildcats topped the SonBlazers. Saenz tallied 6 receptions for 97 yards. Marcus Mendez helped Tularosa's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 21 yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Johnny Plowman of Lordsburg is the league leader in passing yards this season with 810. He has also thrown 7 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Saenz. The Tularosa star has 30 catches for 551 yards.
