The Prospect Ridge Academy Miners will head out on the road to square off against the Jefferson Academy Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Prospect Ridge Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
You can't lose the matchup if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Prospect Ridge Academy's strategy against the Eagles on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Prospect Ridge Academy blew the Eagles out of the water with a 49-20 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Prospect Ridge Academy had established a 25 point advantage.
Kayah Robbins was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds. Robbins is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Amelia Waggoner was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Jefferson Academy was the victim of a tough 54-32 loss at the hands of the Sun Devils on Monday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jefferson Academy in their matchups with the Sun Devils: they've now lost three in a row.
The win makes it two in a row for Prospect Ridge Academy and bumps their season record up to 4-11. As for Jefferson Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6.
Prospect Ridge Academy came up short against the Jaguars in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 39-35. Thankfully for Prospect Ridge Academy, Allie Jo Kirkpatrick (who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
