On Friday Minatare take on Potter-Dix . Minatare don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Don't be fooled by the insanely high score: we promise Minatare and Arthur County were playing football. Minatare were fully in charge last Friday, breezing past Arthur County 96-56. Junior Kaleb Gonzales was the offensive standout of the match for Minatare, as he rushed for 120 yards and 6 touchdowns. In fact, with 12 tackles Gonzales was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Potter-Dix, and their contest last Friday only extended their streak of losses to three. They were completely outmatched, falling 0-84 to South Platte. The state rankings had actually given Potter-Dix a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
Minatare's victory lifted them to 5-1 while Potter-Dix's defeat dropped them down to 1-5. With four turnovers, Potter-Dix had trouble holding onto the ball. We'll see if Minatare exploit that vulnerability.
