Buena dropped their record down to 18-6 on Thursday, which also ended the team's 11-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Desert View Jaguars by a score of 12-10. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Aidan Barrett was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Aaron Cortes, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

As for Desert View, they pushed their record up to 15-6 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.

On Desert View's side, Orlando Pinedo was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave Pinedo a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jorge Zazueta, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Iram Urias was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
