Bellefontaine and Indian Lake are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Chieftains will head out to square off against the Lakers at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bellefontaine will be strutting in after a win while Indian Lake will be coming in after a defeat.
Bellefontaine is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Shawnee on Thursday as they made off with a 13-4 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Chieftains needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Bellefontaine got a massive performance out of Brody Boy, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Boy a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zylar Huffman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Indian Lake fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Tecumseh on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Arrows by a score of 5-4. The Lakers have struggled against the Arrows recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Madden Lillard was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, Kolton Cummins was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Cyrus Cummins, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
Indian Lake's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Bellefontaine, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 5-11.
Bellefontaine came out on top in a nail-biter against Indian Lake when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chieftains since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
