Henry Ford Academy and University Prep are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Navigators will be playing at home against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Henry Ford Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
Henry Ford Academy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Chandler Park Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's matchup. The Navigators put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 21-3 victory on Wednesday. 21 seems to be a good number for the Navigators as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Avery Perez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Perez was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Henry Ford Academy got a massive performance out of Kaiden Lynn, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Lynn is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Brown, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one double.
Henry Ford Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chandler Park Academy only posted a batting average of .250.
Meanwhile, University Prep didn't have quite enough to beat Lincoln-King Academy on Wednesday and fell 7-6. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The victory was the third in a row for Henry Ford Academy, bringing their record up to 3-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for University Prep, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Everything went Henry Ford Academy's way against University Prep in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Henry Ford Academy made off with an 18-0 victory.
