Covington Academy has struggled against Hills Academy recently, as their game on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Hills Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Micah Pugh led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Pugh hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Siar Francis, who scored 17 points along with 9 steals.
Covington Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Hills Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Covington Academy will take on Young Americans Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Young Americans Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Hills Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against New Creation Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
