Goldsboro fell to Scotland 35-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Nashir Bowden threw for 157 yards and 1 touchdown in the defeat.
Goldsboro made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,641 from 6,996. The improvement was largely due to a 35-14 victory over Eric Reid's team last week.
Goldsboro's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Bowden has thrown for 617 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Joseph Baker has 18 catches for 232 yards.
As it stands, the Cougars are in second, while South Lenoir is in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Goldsboro takes on the Blue Devils. The Cougars have allowed 167 points this season, while South Lenoir has given up 173. Goldsboro allowed 35 points last week as it fell to the Fighting Scots.
