The Weaver Bearcats will hit the road for the first time this season to  face off against  the Ashville Bulldogs  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Both come into the  matchup bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Weaver will bounce into Monday's   game after  beating Piedmont, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Weaver walked away with  a   9-5  victory over Piedmont  on Thursday. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Bearcats.
 Reyleigh Partner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and two unearned) runs on ten hits.
 At the plate, Weaver got a  massive  performance out of  Caitlyn Edmonson, who  scored four  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Stevie McGinnis, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Ashville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past the Falcons  2-0.
 Weaver's victory was  their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Ashville, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
 Weaver beat Ashville 5-2  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024. Will Weaver repeat their success,  or does  Ashville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
