Baseball Recap: Chinle Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Chinle, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Alchesay Falcons a 5-0 shutout on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Falcons back in March, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

Hage Tsosie made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Bryceson Sam was excellent, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.

Chinle has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Alchesay, their record is now 14-6.

Chinle wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-3 win against Tuba City on the 14th. As for Alchesay, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-5 victory against Miami on the 14th.
