The Council Grove Braves's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Halstead Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Hopefully Council Grove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, Council Grove beat Mission Valley 46-38.
Council Grove's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kolby Rose, who scored nine points along with four steals, and Brycen Palmquist, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Palmquist continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Drew Buchman was another key contributor, scoring three points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Halstead's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 58-37 walloping at the hands of Hoisington. Halstead has struggled against Hoisington recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Council Grove has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. As for Halstead, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-6.
