Softball Recap: Union County Snags 11th Victory in Last 12 Games

Union County got themselves on the board against Whitmire on Wednesday, but Whitmire never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp 17-0 victory. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Union County is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Whitmire, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union County will challenge Chesnee at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Whitmire, they will square off against McCormick at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
