Softball Recap: Calvary Baptist Academy Makes It 18 in a Row on the Road

Calvary Baptist Academy had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 17-run drubbing they dealt Stanley on Friday. The Cavaliers blew past the Panthers 19-2. Considering the Cavaliers have won 18 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Addison Willis spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Baylor Bockhaus was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaycee Sledge, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3.

Calvary Baptist Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive contests.

Calvary Baptist Academy's victory was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 29-0. As for Stanley, their record now sits at 19-6.

Coming up, Calvary Baptist Academy will be taking part in a tournament against Alexandria at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cavaliers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Stanley, they will host Lakeside at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
