The Linn Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 62-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Elizabeth. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (57), Linn still had to take the loss.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Hall, who went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 4 assists. Another player making a difference was Gus Peters, who scored 15 points.
Gavin Williams was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten steals for St. Elizabeth. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Wobbe, who scored 11 points.
Linn's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-14. As for St. Elizabeth, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Linn will play host again and welcome Tuscumbia, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Linn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Friday. St. Elizabeth is on the road again on Monday and plays Dixon at 6:00 p.m. on February 12th. One thing working in St. Elizabeth's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
