The Forge Christian Fury were the 40-37 winner over the Prospect Ridge Academy Miners when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Forge Christian fell 46-35 to Prospect Ridge Academy on Friday.
Despite the defeat, Forge Christian saw an underclassman step up: Finley Queen almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Maxine Rossi was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Prospect Ridge Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Audrey Zych out in front who scored six points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Kayah Robbins, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Forge Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-12 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forge Christian will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Peak to Peak at 5:30 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully Forge Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Friday. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Colorado Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
