Softball Recap: Central Catholic's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Central Catholic came into Tuesday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lumen Christi Catholic Titans 2-1. This was payback for the Fighting Irish, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Ella Schuberg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Central Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mackenzie Coleman, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Central Catholic now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Lumen Christi Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-5.

Central Catholic will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Titans: the pair will be back at it again later today.
