Basketball Recap: Johnson Ferry Christian Academy Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Johnson Ferry Christian Academy entered their matchup against Pinecrest Academy on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Johnson Ferry Christian Academy Saints fell 62-55 to the Pinecrest Academy Paladins. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Paladins apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Micah Strech, who posted five points in addition to ten assists and eight boards. Those ten assists gave Strech a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason West, who put up 14 points and five rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pinecrest Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joe Frain, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 boards. Frain has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Nick Keyman was another key player, putting up 13 points along with seven assists and three steals.

Johnson Ferry Christian Academy's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-6. As for Pinecrest Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Johnson Ferry Christian Academy will take on The King's Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Johnson Ferry Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 games. As for Pinecrest Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-53 win against Cherokee Christian on the 17th.
