The Eureka Loggers will head out on the road to face off against the St. Bernard's Crusaders at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Eureka is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Friday, Eureka was the victim of a rough 38-14 loss at the hands of Fortuna.
Meanwhile, St. Bernard's was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 18-17 to Del Norte.
The losing side was boosted by Wyatt Simoni, who rushed for 174 yards and two touchdowns. Simoni is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Eureka's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-1-1 Windsor and 6-2 Del Norte (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 67.4% over those games). As for St. Bernard's, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
Eureka and St. Bernard's were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, but Eureka came up empty-handed after a 7-6 defeat. Thankfully for Eureka, Drew Sisemore (who rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
