If the Lamar Texans were riding high off their 69-38 takedown of the Chavez Lobos last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lamar fell 46-39 to Bellaire on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Lamar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 378th, while Bellaire is ranked 74th).
It was another big night for Shelton Henderson, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and six steals for Bellaire. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Andrews, who scored 11 points along with two blocks.
Lamar's defeat dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Bellaire, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-6.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Heights the next time they take the court. Lamar will head out to face Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Bellaire will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
