Softball Recap: Rocky Bayou Christian Sets Scoring Season-High Against Lighthouse Private Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rocky Bayou Christian). They blew past the Lighthouse Private Christian Academy Stingrays 27-5 on Thursday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Audra Morgan was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. Morgan was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Skyler Dill-Langley, who went 3-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and one triple. Dill-Langley is crushing it when it comes to hits: she's got at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Bailey Nance, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Rocky Bayou Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .776. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Rocky Bayou Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. Lighthouse Private Christian Academy's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Looking ahead, Rocky Bayou Christian will challenge Pensacola Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to square off against Destin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
