After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Moline United, Galesburg was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They really took it to the Alleman Pioneers for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-22 victory. The Silver Streaks' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Galesburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grady Hickey, who threw for 262 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt. Corey McGee helped Hickey out on the ground, rushing for 71 yards and three scores on only ten carries.
Galesburg was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Despite the loss, Alleman still got an impressive performance from Kyle Boden, who rushed for 109 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 70 yards.
The win got Galesburg back to even at 2-2. As for Alleman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
