Grace Christian were the 75-46 winner over the Victory Baptist Academy Saints when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Grace Christian fell to Victory Baptist Academy 57-51.
Several Grace Christian players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brady Johnston, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Wiebe, who scored 17 points.
Victory Baptist Academy's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Hunt, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. Hunt continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Noah Childers, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Grace Christian now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Victory Baptist Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grace Christian will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Wayne at 2:00 p.m. on January 13th. Wayne is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Victory Baptist Academy, they will head out on the road to take on West Logan Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (West Logan Christian Academy is ranked 72nd, while Victory Baptist Academy is ranked 63rd).
