They came out on top against Manchester Memorial by a score of 41-32. For Derryfield, this counts as revenge for the 53-52 defeat Manchester Memorial walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Manchester Memorial lost, one person who can't be blamed is NyAsia McKelvey. Despite the final result, she scored nine points along with 15 rebounds. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Payton Moran was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Derryfield's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Manchester Memorial, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Derryfield will challenge Milford at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Hampshire (Milford is ranked 16th, while Derryfield is ranked 24th). Manchester Memorial will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Trinity at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Trinity is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
