The Crystal Lake Central Tigers had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Woodstock with a 63-58 victory on Saturday. The victory was just what Crystal Lake Central needed coming off of a 75-54 loss in their prior match.
Crystal Lake Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack Hopkins led the charge by scoring ten points along with nine rebounds and five assists. Jake Terlecki was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Crystal Lake Central's win ended a 11-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-17. As for Woodstock, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crystal Lake Central and McHenry will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. McHenry will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. As for Woodstock, they will head out on the road to face off against Marengo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
