Papillion-LaVista South is 0-4 against Elkhorn South since September of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Titans will host the Storm at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Papillion-LaVista South's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last six contests.
Papillion-LaVista South is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Burke: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Titans blew the Bulldogs out of the water with a 60-6 final score. Considering the Titans have won seven games by more than 26 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Chester Mendoza had a dynamite game, rushing for 114 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Jagger Cox, who rushed for 73 yards and one TD.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Papillion-LaVista South was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 249 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Papillion-LaVista South has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 170.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Elkhorn South struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 266.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Papillion-LaVista South came up short against Elkhorn South in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 28-20. Thankfully for the Titans, Gavin Shanahan (who rushed for 175 yards and three TDs, and also picked up 51 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
