University School of Jackson will go up against Nashville Christian in continuing playoff action on Friday. Both of these red-hot teams will try to put the other on ice to keep their winning streaks alive.
University School of Jackson earned some more postseason success in their matchup last Friday. They steamrolled past King's Academy 56-20. Caleb Willis and Tyler Wallace were among the main playmakers for the Bruins as the former rushed for 69 yards and two TDs on seven carries and the latter rushed for 74 yards and two TDs on 11 carries. In fact, with 12 tackles Wallace was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Nashville Christian. They blew past Fayette Academy 38-6. Dakota Owens went supernova for Nashville Christian as he rushed for 171 yards and three TDs on 25 carries. If you haven't heard Owens' name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in Nashville Christian's past five games. Owens' sharp performance set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season.
The last time the two teams met in October, University School of Jackson and Nashville Christian were almost perfectly matched up, but University School of Jackson suffered an agonizing 28-27 loss. Can the Bruins avenge their defeat, or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll soon find out.
