Softball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Casa Roble's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Casa Roble had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Del Campo on Wednesday. The Rams were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Cougars. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by eight runs or more this season.

Alyssa Godwin was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Godwin was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Casa Roble let Elizabeth Seider and Zaria Gee run wild. Seider went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Gee scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Those four RBI gave Seider a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gianna Giannini, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

Casa Roble always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Del Campo only posted an OBP of .214.

Casa Roble is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Del Campo, they dropped their record down to 5-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Casa Roble will welcome El Camino at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Del Campo, they will head out to take on Nevada Union at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Miners have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.25 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
