Rockridge has gone 9-1 against Erie-Prophetstown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Rockridge will head out on the road to challenge Erie-Prophetstown at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Last Wednesday, Rockridge made easy work of Hall and carried off an 11-1 victory. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Taylor Dieterich was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Emilee Black was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run was her first of the season. Morgan Hofer was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Erie-Prophetstown). They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over Monmouth-Roseville on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Like Rockridge, Erie-Prophetstown also got a great game from a two-way player: Ayden Klendworth. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave Klendworth a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Erie-Prophetstown got a big performance out of Chloe Hamilton, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Lilly Swatos, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Erie-Prophetstown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Rockridge's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Erie-Prophetstown, their record is now 4-2.
Rockridge was able to grind out a solid win over Erie-Prophetstown when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rockridge since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
