The Centennial Stars will face off against the Whetstone Braves at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Centennial's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
The home team had come away the winner the last six times Centennial and Mifflin had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Stars were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over the Punchers on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Stars, who have now won eight games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Max Burt made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2025. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Centennial is undefeated when Burt posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, Centennial got a massive performance out of Jayden Hammond, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles Hammond has posted since back in April of 2025. Daniel Barnes was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Centennial hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mifflin struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, Whetstone fell victim to Hayes and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Pacers, falling 9-0. The Braves haven't had much luck with the Pacers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Whetstone saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kai Moses, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.
Centennial's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Whetstone, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Centennial has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Whetstone struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Centennial couldn't quite get it done against Whetstone in their previous matchup back in April as they fell 7-3. Will the Stars have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
