The Racine Case Eagles will challenge the Racine Lutheran/Prairie Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Racine Lutheran/Prairie took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Racine Case, who comes in off a win.
Racine Lutheran/Prairie will be up against a hot Racine Case squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Eagles blew past Racine Park 10-2 on Friday.
Chad Mortensen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Racine Case is undefeated when Mortensen posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, Racine Case let Anthony Bull and Michael Neimeyer run wild. Bull went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles, while Neimeyer went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four hits gave Neimeyer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb LaMartina, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Racine Case always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Racine Lutheran/Prairie started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Kenosha Bradford/Kenosha Reuther. They came up short against Kenosha Bradford/Kenosha Reuther on Thursday, falling 10-1.
Racine Case's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Racine Lutheran/Prairie, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
Everything went Racine Case's way against Racine Lutheran/Prairie when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Racine Case made off with a 13-1 win. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crusaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
