If the McClain Tigers were riding high off their 59-27 takedown of the Paint Valley Bearcats last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. McClain took a hard 59-40 fall against Jackson on Wednesday. McClain lost against Jackson in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 45-39 score last time.
Jackson had a senior duo take command as T.j. Carpenter scored 24 points along with 4 steals and Mattie Walburn scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Carpenter has scored at least 25% of Jackson's points. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Davis, who scored 9 points.
McClain's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Jackson, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
McClain will be playing at home against Miami Trace at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. Jackson's road trip will continue as they head out to face Portsmouth West at 2:00 p.m. on December 2nd.
