On Friday, The Hot Springs County Bobcats faced the Lovell Bulldogs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Hot Springs County was dealt a 40-13 loss at the hands of Lovell. Hot Springs County has struggled against Lovell recently, as their match on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Hot Springs County's loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 Mountain View and 7-2 Tongue River (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 76.2% over those games). As for Lovell, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Hot Springs County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lovell will head out on the road to face off against Big Horn at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Big Horn is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
