Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Timnath

Timnath put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Greeley Central Wildcats as the Timnath Cubs made off with a 19-1 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 last Wednesday.

Dane Wyman and Jonah Ryan were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Wyman pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Ryan tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Wyman went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double, while Ryan scored two runs while going 1-for-1. Those two runs gave Ryan a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryan Waymire, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Poynter, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Timnath always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greeley Central only posted an OBP of .412.

Timnath's record now sits at 3-0. As for Greeley Central, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timnath will face off against Tolleson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Greeley Central, they will square off against Fort Morgan at 10:00 a.m. on March 21st.
