Basketball Recap: Flanagan Takes a Loss

Flanagan played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 61-26 loss at the hands of the Coral Springs Colts. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-12.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was AJ Forges, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten boards. Forges is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last six games he's played. Marcus Downey was another key player, putting up seven points along with six boards and three blocks.

This is the second loss in a row for Flanagan and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Coral Springs, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Flanagan will take on Taravella in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Coral Springs, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Fort Lauderdale at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Colts their first taste of in-conference action this season.
