Hall had won three straight on the road, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 4-10 to make it four. They came out on top against the Newman Central Catholic Comets by a score of 10-5. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Red Devils considering their two-run performance the match before.
Brynn Blair spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on three hits.
On the hitting side, Ava Delphi was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Caroline Morris, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hall kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Newman Central Catholic only managed three hits.
As for Newman Central Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. Comets fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Hall since on Monday.
On Newman Central Catholic's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Gianna Vance gave up five earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Vance.
At the plate, Lucy Oetting was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Brenleigh Cook was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Coming up, Hall will face off against Woodland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Newman Central Catholic, they will head out to take on Princeton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Comets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
