The Union City Indians will head out on the road to  face off against  the Anderson Indians at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Union City will be strutting in after a  victory while Anderson will be coming in after a  defeat.

Smith has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive pitching appearances. Smith was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Scarlett VanMeter was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances.  Emma Blankley was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-1.
 Meanwhile, Anderson was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They lost  12-5 to Lapel.
  Emma Wilson was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 3-for-4 with four  RBI and a  stolen base. Another player making a difference was  Delayna Houk, who  went 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases.
 Union City's victory  ended  a  five-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 8-11. As for Anderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Union City has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 6.9  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Anderson struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 7. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
