The Harmony Longhorns will challenge the St. Cloud Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Harmony is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They never let Poinciana get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The Longhorns' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Emerson Aslan was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Paget-Acosta, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Harmony kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, St. Cloud made easy work of Celebration on Monday and carried off a 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Addison Felblinger made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 19 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zhyra De La Cruz, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Madelis Reyes, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
St. Cloud has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Harmony, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
Harmony might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from St. Cloud in their previous matchup on April 13th. Can the Longhorns avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
