The Anson Bearcats waltzed into their game Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They put the hurt on Montgomery Central with a sharp 90-65 win. Anson might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four games by 25 points or more this season.
Jayden Little continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 30 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Anson's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaqualin Liles, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds.
Anson pushed their record up to 7-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.7 points per game. As for Montgomery Central, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Anson will head out on the road to face off against South Stanly at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Stanly has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 185 points over their last three matches. Montgomery Central will be home for the holidays to greet Southern Lee at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southern Lee presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Montgomery Central in North Carolina (Southern Lee is ranked 150th, while Montgomery Central is ranked 579th).
