Ardrey Kell has gone a perfect 4-0 against Palisades recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Ardrey Kell will be playing in front of their home fans against Palisades at 5:30 p.m. Ardrey Kell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Last Wednesday, Ardrey Kell was able to grind out a solid victory over South Mecklenburg, taking the game 9-4. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by exactly five runs.
Jenna Volturno was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Volturno was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double.
In other batting news, Ardrey Kell let Tessa Sanchez-Barrios and Janey Galek run wild. Sanchez-Barrios went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base, while Galek scored two runs while going 2-for-5. What's more, Galek posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alexa Amodio, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.
Ardrey Kell hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in seven consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Palisades fell victim to Independence and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Patriots, falling 13-0.
Ardrey Kell is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. Palisades now has a losing record of 5-6.
Palisades' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ardrey Kell has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Palisades, though, as they've been averaging 8.7 hits. Given Ardrey Kell's sizable advantage in that area, Palisades will need to find a way to close that gap.
