The North Posey Vikings had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Evansville Day 70-40 on the road. That's another feather in the cap for North Posey, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
North Posey was led to victory by Jackson Graff and Austin Schmitt. Graff scored 14 points along with 3 steals, while Schmitt scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Ethan Mansfield was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 5 rebounds.
North Posey's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Evansville Day, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Posey will challenge Heritage Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Heritage Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday. As for Evansville Day, they will head out on the road to face off against Tell City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tell City comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
