Burlington and Frontenac go head to head on Thursday at 7:00 PM in their first playoff game of the year. Frontenac will be hoping to continue their now four-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
Burlington won against Osawatomie two weeks ago with 36 points, and Burlington decided to stick to that point total again last Friday. Burlington enjoyed a cozy 36-20 win over Anderson County. No one put up better numbers for Burlington than senior Brannon Nordstedt, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 212 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Frontenac put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They won the contest and then some against Columbus, taking the contest 35-14. Frontenac were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 5-3. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
