The Hancock Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They fell to Hundred 43-38. While losing is never fun, Hancock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 288th in Maryland, while Hundred is ranked 120th in West Virginia).
Hancock's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Skylar Smith, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Keelyn Seal was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Hancock's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Hundred, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11.
Hancock will head out on the road to square off against Calvary Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hancock is facing Calvary Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Calvary Christian Academy is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Hundred, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Paden City at 7:00 p.m.
