The Rock National has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Oak Ridge Pioneers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Saturday, The Rock National didn't have too much trouble with The Villages Charter at home as they won 77-63. Given The Rock National's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while The Villages Charter is ranked 105th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Oak Ridge came tearing into Friday's matchup with 17 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 87-73 win over Olympia.
Oak Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamier Jones, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds. Jones hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Tillery, who scored 20 points along with eight assists and six rebounds.
The Rock National pushed their record up to 14-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Oak Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 19-2.
