The Savannah Christian Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of The Habersham School. That's two games in a row now that Savannah Christian has lost by exactly seven points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead The Habersham School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Camryn Hampton, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals. Hampton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Cadle, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Savannah Christian bumped their record down to 3-10 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.8 points per game. As for The Habersham School, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Savannah Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Long County at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Long County is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. The Habersham School won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Trinity Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 19th. Trinity Christian's defense has only allowed 25.6 points per game this season, so The Habersham School's offense will have their work cut out for them.
