The McCurdy Bobcats will square off against the Espanola Valley Sundevils at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (McCurdy has ten straight victories, Espanola Valley has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
It was a proper cat-fight when McCurdy duked it out with Questa on Thursday. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 15-1 win. Considering the Bobcats have won nine games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Jeremaya Roybal made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs. McCurdy is 10-1 when Roybal posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryan Valdez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ethan Bolton, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
McCurdy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in ten consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Espanola Valley came up short against Moriarty on Saturday, falling 9-2.
McCurdy pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Espanola Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.
McCurdy couldn't quite finish off Espanola Valley in their previous meeting back in March and fell 6-4. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
