Serrano is 0-10 against Burroughs since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Serrano Diamondbacks will head out on the road to challenge the Burroughs Burros at 6:00 p.m.
Serrano suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Oak Hills, falling 85-38. While losing is never fun, Serrano can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 821st, while Oak Hills is ranked 204th).
Meanwhile, Burroughs slipped by Apple Valley 49-48 on Friday. The win was just what Burroughs needed coming off of a 74-37 loss in their prior contest.
Burroughs found their leader in underclassman Trevor Rowland, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Dominic Sellers, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Serrano's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Burroughs, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Serrano ended up a good deal behind Burroughs in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, losing 65-51. Can Serrano avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
