Orange Cove has gone a perfect 10-0 against Wonderful College Prep Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Orange Cove proved they can win big on Monday (they won by seven) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past McLane 4-3.
Daisy Regalado spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ashley Garcia, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Danika Del Bosque, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Wonderful College Prep Academy couldn't beat Orosi last Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Wolves came up short against the Cardinals, falling 19-7.
Melanie Zamora was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Marli Flores was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run.
Orange Cove has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Wonderful College Prep Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.
Wonderful College Prep Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Orange Cove hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. It's a different story for Wonderful College Prep Academy, though, as they've only averaged .203. Will they be able to contain Orange Cove's hitters?
