Golden Plains is 0-9 against the Ringnecks since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Even though Golden Plains has not done well against the Thunderhawks recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Golden Plains enjoyed a cozy 58-42 win over the Thunderhawks. The win was nothing new for Golden Plains as they're now sitting on three straight.
Golden Plains found their leader in underclassman Dylan Wark, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wark has scored all season. Josh Rath was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hill City strolled past the Buffaloes with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 65-51.
It was another big night for Dylan Gansel, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Carson Keith, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Golden Plains' win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Hill City, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Golden Plains have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Hill City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 24.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Golden Plains was dealt a bruising 93-17 loss at the hands of the Ringnecks when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Golden Plains avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
