Stone Bridge (Ashburn, Va.) extended its winning streak to eight games with a 49-7 victory over McLean (Va.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Sterling Dailey touchdown run in the first quarter, the Bulldogs led 35-0 at the half.
Stone Bridge expanded its lead to 42 points entering the fourth quarter. SB scored once in the quarter on a
Jake Kuzbel touchdown pass to
D'Ante Yarborough.
Chris Rosenbaum played well for the Highlanders. The senior kicked one extra point.
Dailey was the top performer for the Ashburn school. The junior ran for two touchdowns and caught one touchdown.
McLean's lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter.
MHS came in surrendering 14.7 points per game this season. The Highlanders struggled against the Bulldogs, which came in averaging 39.0 points per game. Led by
Jonathan Allen, Stone Bridge went into the matchup giving up only 8.9 points per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, SB came away with a 38-6 victory.
Stone Bridge (8-0) will play a AAA Liberty game against Madison next week, while McLean (4-4) will take on Jefferson also in a AAA Liberty game.
